Reviews for Toatoa Farm Stay Accommodation
AA Travel Review Cycling the Motu Trails
"... An easy cruise for a few more kilometres through a picturesque valley brought us to the farm of Bob and Maxine Crowley who were our B&B hosts for the night.
They were absolutely wonderful and represented the best of what New Zealand has to offer in terms of good old fashioned Kiwi hospitality.
The farm is a menagerie of animals, with our arrival welcomed by a pet goat, a pig, a couple of dogs and under the watchful eye of a few cows and Bob's horse.
The farmhouse is a step back in time and perfectly in tune with its surroundings and its owners. We loved it and everything about Toatoa was memorable.
After a great night's sleep and full breakfast we bade farewell to Toatoa and headed further up the Old Motu Road..."

Well we very much enjoyed our weekend away and were lucky the weather gods were on our side!!
Thankyou very much for your hospitality, I am already starting to plan the next trip with some friends.
Totally loved our weekend all thanks to you and Bob. Never did we image meeting such a wonderful couple. It reminded both Jonny and I of staying with our own grandparents when we were the kids age mine all the way down in Fox Glacier in a house not much different from the one up at the farm and Jonny his grandparents farm in the back of Taranaki. Wonderful memories.
Thank you again take care of yourselves and we will be recommending you to other families.

Hello Maxine & Bob & Lee
Well... we made it home! We sometimes wonder why we live in this BIG city! We are already hankering to get away again!
What a fabulous weekend we had in your neck of the woods.
Many thanks for making it such a memorable stay. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time away and the Toa Toa hospitality will be legendary.
Maxine, we would really like the "Brown Betty' dessert recipe sometime if you could email it through that would be great.
We still can't believe we were mad enough to do the Pakahi track in all that rain! For recreational riders, especially like us girls it was a real achievement.
We hope Jim and his crew get on with the Old Military track so we can come back and do that & the dunes together. It will make a nice ride.
Thanks again for everything. Take care.

Hi Maxine, Bob and Lee
We just want to thankyou for your wonderful hospitality and helpfulness on our Motu river trail adventure last weekend. We had a fantastic time - your meals Maxine were suberb - Bob you were entertainment plus - and a very wise stockman - Lee a man of many skills. A trip with fond memories of great scenery, wonderful people and accommodation - and an extreme workout - we will definitely recommend to others.
P.s. The feijoas are nearly all gone.
Thanks once again. Cheers Murray, Julie, Michelle and Steve.
